ABERYSTWYTH FIRE STATION

The project involved the demolition of the former fire station and the construction of a new modern fire station which includes three fire appliance bays, office accommodation and a community café open to the public.

The site is located at the existing fire station on Penparcau Road, Trefechan and firefighters were temporarily housed in the town’s TA Centre whilst work was undertaken.

The new two-storey building provides offices, meeting rooms, store rooms, entrance lobby, community room, café, kitchen, watch room and drill tower, operations and training space.

The project has achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and participated in the Welsh Government sponsored Enabling Zero Waste initiative. We worked with Constructing Excellence in Wales to avert waste generated during the demolition and new build. The scheme is an exemplar regarding waste minimisation and diverted 99.4% from landfill.
