DYLAN HOUSING, LLANELLI

The project involves the design and construction of 34 new homes on a green open space of land between Dylan, Amanwy Road and Pant Bryn Isaf housing estate in Llanelli.

The client, Carmarthenshire County Council, have determined that there is primarily a local demand for two-bedroom four-person houses together with, but to lesser degree, four-bedroom seven-person houses. The plot of land has therefore been developed to optimise this requirement and it is proposed that 28 will be two-bed houses and 6 will be four-bed to meet the clients’ requirement.

The new build houses will incorporate a degree of Innovative technology and the design will include for a solar PV array on the roof, a charging point for an electric car, LED lighting and the option to have an MVHR system. The houses will also incorporate a higher degree of insulation than that currently required by Building Regulations.
