MORFA MAEN AND SEASIDE BUNGALOWS

The project involved the construction of 7 no. 2 bedroom bungalows at Morfa Maen in Kidwelly and 5 no. 2 bedroom bungalows at Seaside in Llanelli.

The bungalows will provide more suitable accommodation for older people and help relieve the demand for disabled home adaptations.

They will also allow smaller households to downsize, freeing up larger accommodation for families. Both developments have achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3+ and in order to satisfy the general requirements of the standard each bungalow is constructed from a high quality timber frame structure with exceedingly high levels of proprietary insulation to the walls, floors and roof. Windows and external doors are high performance uPVC complete with Low E double glazed units.

Energy efficient gas fired boiler installations is supplemented with solar hot water provisions and a proprietary heat recovery and ventilation system is also installed, together with additional sustainability features such as rainwater recovery.
