We are thrilled to announce WRW Developments (part of WRW Group) involvement in an exciting joint venture to transform the historic Newport Market. In collaboration with Loft Co and Newport County Council, our exciting partnership will oversee the £12 million redevelopment scheme to develop and enhance the historic market building while regenerating and revitalising the market and community therein.
“Newport City Council’s cabinet has given in-principle backing to a £12 million redevelopment to regenerate and revitalise the historic Newport Market. The development could create more than 300 permanent new jobs, with a significant number of small and medium-sized businesses taking off in the first year and, together with the increased residential use, that will inevitably boost the footfall and create more trade for the stall holders.
Labour market statistics show that the rise in self-employment is permanent, according to the IPSE. This month, the number of self-employed people has remained stable at 4.8 million – 15 per cent of the UK workforce. The continued strength of the self-employed sector, has had an impact on unemployment which is now down from 4.5 per cent last year to 4.2 per cent.” (Editor Business News Wales)
