The project involved the construction of a new Adventure Terminal at the existing Zip World facility in Penryhn Quarry, Bethesda. Zip World are set to expand beyond the borders of North Wales and the new headquarters building supports developments at the site and also provides
facilities to help staff support the national and international expansion.
The new three-storey structure includes a Gallery on the top floor, office space, booking reception, large café and bar and a viewing terrace for spectators. The very heart of the terminal building is the Blondin Restaurant on the second floor offering a combination of indoor
seating and an outdoor terrace with spectacular views over the quarry lake.
Inspired by the stunning area, the building has been developed sensitively within its natural setting. More than 320 square metres of Penrhyn Quarry heather and Cwt y Bugail dark blue grey slate from Welsh Slate has been incorporated into the exterior cladding.
This development will help to ensure the longevity of Zip World’s business by providing a facility that is more appealing out of season and broadening the current offering.
