We are fortunate to have a diverse range of staff who are specialists in many different fields, having all taken different routes into the construction industry, therefore we pride ourselves as CITB Construction Ambassadors who offer experienced advice and knowledge for a younger audience thinking about careers in construction.
We provide work experience opportunities to people interested in a career in construction, these could be anything from office-based roles to the on-site experience. We regularly have school and university students working within various departments and are committed to raising awareness for the roles within the industry that have a skills shortage.
We believe that construction is an exciting and rewarding career, our school engagement activities are therefore focused on showcasing the interesting roles which can be found within the construction industry. Taking this a step further, we have worked in partnership with Aspire2Be, positively utilising the CITB Commission fund to develop a series of primary school engagement activities that used Minecraft to deliver construction-focused learning to children aged between 7 – 11.
This was a truly innovative commission where WRW provided the construction input to develop construction-focused lesson plans, which Aspire2be used to engage with schoolteachers and children across wales. The success of this partnership was showcased in the numerous “Buildathons” held throughout Wales during 2018/2019.
