Join us and help us to construct visions for the future.

We recognise that our staff is the biggest asset in our commitment to construct the vision of our clients and customers, it is our responsibility that our staff has the knowledge, skills, and ability to carry out this commitment.

Our training activity is crucial to giving confidence to our staff and customers that we are true to our mission.

We take a holistic view of training and believe that the benefits of training are not just for business performance, but as a key tool in achieving engagement, retention, and growth.

This approach forms four core areas:

Knowledge and Skills

The foundation of our training is knowledge and skills base training which is vital to ensuring that our staff have the relevant skills in the core areas to carry out their duties and responsibilities to the best of their ability.

Gaining accreditation to professional bodies is integral to continued professional development. We actively encourage and promote the route to professional accreditation, offering any assistance needed for an application. Professional accreditations are not confined to construction-related bodies and we have members of staff who have become members of the Chartered Institute of Accountants and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

We are advocates of both trade and professional apprenticeships within our business. WRW has been very fortunate to have had great success engaging with young learners, supporting and guiding them through the early years of their professional careers.

University and Graduate

We feel it is our responsibility to promote construction as a viable and diverse career opportunity in order to attract emerging talent. We sponsor part-time learners at the undergraduate and post-graduate level, providing them with structured development plans to complement their academic studies while also developing and nurturing their professionalism. This allows for a fast-tracked approach to talent development within the business.

Work Experience

We are fortunate to have a diverse range of staff who are specialists in many different fields, having all taken different routes into the construction industry, therefore we pride ourselves as CITB Construction Ambassadors who offer experienced advice and knowledge for a younger audience thinking about careers in construction.

We provide work experience opportunities to people interested in a career in construction, these could be anything from office-based roles to the on-site experience. We regularly have school and university students working within various departments and are committed to raising awareness for the roles within the industry that have a skills shortage.

We believe that construction is an exciting and rewarding career, our school engagement activities are therefore focused on showcasing the interesting roles which can be found within the construction industry. Taking this a step further, we have worked in partnership with Aspire2Be, positively utilising the CITB Commission fund to develop a series of primary school engagement activities that used Minecraft to deliver construction-focused learning to children aged between 7 – 11.

This was a truly innovative commission where WRW provided the construction input to develop construction-focused lesson plans, which Aspire2be used to engage with schoolteachers and children across wales. The success of this partnership was showcased in the numerous “Buildathons” held throughout Wales during 2018/2019.
