We are delighted to have been appointed to deliver the new children’s assessment centre, Bwthyn y Ddôl on the former Meadow Lodge site at Colwyn Bay.

The design and construction of this new facility will consist of three single storey units comprising a multi-disciplinary team assessment house, a short-term unplanned accommodation, and an assessment facility/workshop unit, together with associated external works and drainage, including parking.

The new unit, which will be named Bwthyn y Ddôl, will be a place where children can be safely cared for, supported and supervised by a residential team, and where children and their parents and carers can meet an on-site therapeutic team.

The project is a partnership between Conwy County Borough Council, Denbighshire County Council, and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).

The development will comprise 3 distinct self-contained units that are adjoined with internally controlled access between each of the units. Construction will be traditional brick and block on a sloping site. Sustainable design elements include underfloor heating and Air Source Heat Pumps.

The development is funded through the Welsh Government Integrated Care Fund.
