The new Groeswen Primary School is a two-form entry Primary School with 48 place nursery located within the new Plasdwr development in Cardiff.
Plasdwr is a new community taking shape in the northwest of Cardiff where residents can choose from a mix of apartments, townhouses and luxury family homes within a community offering a Secondary School, four Primary Schools, health centres, shops and offices, pubs, and restaurants, leisure centres, playing fields, play areas and managed heritage woodland.
The School is being delivered for Redrow Homes but will be ultimately owned by Cardiff County Council. The new school will be built over two levels comprising 15 classrooms, main hall, library, reception, staff room, offices, kitchen, storerooms, and circulation space. Externally the scheme will include a car park, soft and hard play areas, MUGA, and 3G pitch. The project has been designed to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for Energy and a ‘Very Good’ rating overall.
